A total of eight selected teams would feature in the inaugural edition of Humis Memorial football tournament which begins on Friday at the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria football pitch,along Badagry Expressway,Lagos.
The competition which is organised by Tico Concept Solution is sponsored by GEDOL Engineering Company Limited under the leadership of Isa Yaqoob.
At the draw conference held on Tuesday morining,two teams would play each other and a winner in each match would qualify for the semi final stage.
The opening match would be played between FEDAN boys against Morining Stars on Friday by 8am,while Tico FC tackle Super Stars by 10am same day.
Action resumes next Wednesday when Young Stars face Oscar Rovers by 8am as SC Heritage tackle Lead United by 10am.
Speaking after the draws, match cordinator,Sunny Ehon expressed satisfaction with the draws and urged all the participants to adhere to the rules and regulations governing the competition.
He said the competition was organised for the development of the players and admonished the coaches or club owners not to see the competition a do or die affairs.
“The competition is being sponsored by GEDOL Engineering Company Limited and i don’t want a situation where some of us would take the tournament a do or die affairs,”he said.
Despite the fact tha the tournamet is registration free, the winners would stil go home with the sum of N50,000 with a trophy, while a runner up would receive a sum of N30,000.
