D2D Satellite Comms: Nigeria’s Space Research Agency Signs MoU With Chinese Firm, Galaxy Space

The National Space Research and Development Agency (NASRDA) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Chinese firm Galaxy Space to deploy Direct-to-Device (D2D) satellite communication in Nigeria.

The agreement marks a major step toward improving network coverage—especially in rural areas—by allowing devices to connect directly to satellites without relying on cell towers.
