The Boulder International Film Festival (BIFF) has announced dates for the 22nd edition of its critically acclaimed festival: April 9-12, 2026.
BIFF will start the shift from March to April next year in anticipation of the recently announced move of the Sundance Film Festival from Utah to Boulder starting in early 2027.
More people than ever attended the Boulder International Film Festival in its 21st season, which ran from March 13-16 and included 68 films, many special celebrity and guest appearances, and record attendance. “For the 22nd year, we’ll be highlighting all of the programs that have made the festival famous over the last two decades,” said Robin Beeck, executive director, “including award-winning films and filmmakers from around the world, our delicious CineCHEF competition, the Singer/Songwriter Showcase, our world-renowned Call2Action and youth outreach programs, our Adventure Film Program, and the legendary parties we have become well-known for. We have big plans for BIFF 2026 and look forward to continuing to celebrate the art of film with our community and with filmmakers and film fans from around the world,” Beeck said.
BIFF’s call for film entries will open in July for short films, feature films, documentaries, animation, adventure films, and student film submissions. Films that screen at BIFF are eligible for the prestigious Grand Jury, Best of the Festival, and People’s Choice awards. Find more information at biff1.com/filmmakers.
