Patriots for the Promotion of Black Culture Foundation has concluded plan to organise African Culture And Traditional Festival tagged “ISESE WA L’Esin WA”
The event would begin on 8 – 13 December, 2024 at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Surulere,Lagos.
Convener of Patriots for the Promotion Of Black Culture Foundation, Nasiru Ayinla Oniru said that the event is the first largest traditional gathering in the state.
He noted that the event is orgainsed by the Patriots for the Promotion of Black Culture Foundation to promote African heritage and foster unity among black race through the African cultures.
He furthered explained that a week long event would also create awareness on black race and orientate people on the wrong perspective of African traditional cultures across the globe.
Oniru disclosed that the much anticipated African Culture And Traditional Festival is to engage the stakeholders in the process of reviving of tangible aspect of African Culture.
He hinted that during the one week programme, different deities’Orisa’ from African countries would be displayed and performed in the presence of multitude.
“The event is going to showcase our traditional cultures and deities’Orisas’ to the world and unfortunately most of us have abandoned our African culture to embrace western culture which is not too good for us.This event would also defend and preserve sanctity of black culture and traditional religion.
“And secondly we are going to see more deities from other African countries and they are going to display and perform throughout at week programme,” he said.
In his own comment, Chairman publicity and Security Committee, Bolaji Jenkeo confirmed that countries like Ghana, Burkina Faso, Niger Republic,Togo, Gambia and Senegal have registered to participate in the programme.
“It is not only Nigeria cultures we want to display but some African countries have registered on online and they are coming with their cultures and deities. It is going to be fun and display of purely African cultures,” he said.
