The Secretary-General of the Elders council of the Nigeria Football Supporters Club (NFSC) Elder Kayode Alabi John has stated that all those who today parade themselves as President of the various supporters’ club in the country have their roots from the foremost supporters’ club.
Elder Alabi who rose from NFSC NEC meeting which took place at the National Secretariat of the club in Surulere disclosed this to newsmen during a chat.
“I joined this club in 1979 and I can tell you authoritatively and without mincing words that all these individuals who broke away and formed different Supporters Club have their roots from NFSC” Elder Alabi started.
“I was the one who sponsored Kemi, I knew when she joined the NFSC and I also know who brought her to come become a member at the National Stadium”.
“Even Prince Ogunjimi (Bonfere), Vincent Okumagba they were ordinary members but when they had disciplinary issues with the club, they rather saw forming a new club as a solution rather than addressing the issues that they had with the club”.
Elder Alabi further added that the club’s 70th anniversary which comes up next year is going to create a platform for the club to come up with innovations as a committee will be set up to ensure the success of the event.
“It is going to be a colourful event, and by the time the committee to plan the 70th anniversary kick starts, they will come up with innovations that are going to bring the club back to limelight and am sure you all will be there by God’s grace and witness this event” he concluded.
