Omoniyi Ibietan, Head of Media Relations of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), has been elected as the Secretary General of the African Public Relations Association (APRA).
Mr. Ibietan was elected at the 35th Annual General Assembly meeting on Thursday in Abidjan, Ivory Coast.
The Nigerian was elected to the executive council consisting of three people. The other two members are Arik Karani from Kenya as president and Michele Mekeme from Cameroon as vice president.
Mr. Ibietan, a member of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), promised to work with other council members to continue the reform process at APRA, expand democratic space and encourage greater participation in public sector affairs. with the country. We work closely with the African Union Commission and the Council of Ministers to make public relations the basis of policies, programs and project implementation on the continent.
