The hopes of Seamoriow to win the ongoing Alimosho Football Coaches Council Championship suffered a major blow on Thursday at Shasha Air force Base, Alimosho, Lagos.
Sammy who came to the match venue with determination defeated Seamoriow 1-0 in an highly entertaining match.
Okechukwu Patrick from Sammy scored a superb goal to confirm their supremacy over their opponents.
An effort by Seamoriow to restore parity proved abortive as Sammy defenders and goalie denied them to find the back of the net throughout the encounter.
Despite the fact that Sammy two players were given marching order for the unsportmanly behaviour on the field of play, Seamoriow players gave everything to the match for equaliser unfortunately their opponents ran away with the victory.
Shortly after the high tension-soaked match, Sammy Coach, Taiwo Eletu expressed satisfaction with the outcome of the result but frowned over his players given marching order in the encounter.
“We came here to beat our opponents which it came to past, but I am not satisfied with the match official for issuing my players more than ten yellow cards and two red cards.
“Surprisingly our opponents did not receive any yellow card which I want the organisers to look into. Aside that, it was a good outing for us after we lost our week three narrowly. Now we are in contention to contest the league title which I believe is still open among the four clubs,” he said.
Despite the shocking defeat, Seamoriow still remain second position with seven points on the log, while Sammy jump to third position with seven points as Seamoriow top its opponents with superior goals,
The table toppers, Samjason could not disappoint their fans following their 1-0 hard fought victory over Kedge Sports Football Club.
The encounter was another tough match from the blast of whistle till the end as both teams created some scoring chances but failed to convert.
A goal from Chimaobi Kalu in the 19th minutes was Samjason needed to get the three points at stake.
With this victory, Samjason still maintain Unbeaten record having played four matches and won all. Samjason have 12 point and have three matches to play.
Samjason Coach, Samuel Nwanoram said their match against Kedge Sports was a toughest match for them and thanked goodness for the hard-fought victory.
“This is a match that brought best out of my players. They were on top of their game throughout the encounter and I am happy that we achieve our set target. We still remain focused for our remaining matches.
In his own comment, Kedge Sports, Adeniyi Adebayo expressed disappointment with his players saying that they played below expectations especially in the first half.
“It was not a good match for me because our opponents took advantage of poor performance of my boys in the first half.
“Our second half was better unfortunately we could not get the desirable result. I congratulate our opponents for their impressive performance and the job well done. I hope we would continue to fight for the title till our last league match,” he said.
In other two matches, Zion Breed defeated SSFBC 1-0, while Attention FC lost 1-2 to Realms Athletic FC.
The week five would hold on next Sunday at the Egan Grammar School, Alimosho, Lagos.
