Lagos Football Coaches Elections: Coach Ojo Declares His Intention To Run For PRO Post

As the elections of Lagos State Football Coaches Association is gathering momentum,a member of Ikeja Football Coaches Council,Ojo Oyebode Olufemi has formally declared his intention to contest for the position of Public Relations Officer,PRO in the state association.

The elections of Lagos State Football Coaches Association would hold this year as coaches in the state are waiting for the executive members of the state association led by Thairu Hassan to call for Central Working Committee,CWC meeting comprises of council leaders and secretaries where to discuss the appointment of the new electoral committee that would oversee forthcoming elections in the state.

In the CWC meeting,the executive board members would vacate the office and replace it with caretaker committee members to be in charge of the association pending the time the new members would be elected into the various offices.

In his manifestoes forwarded to our correspondent over the weekend,Ojo stated that his vision to contest for the PRO post is to build a strong and respected public image for the association and enhance effective communication between the association, its members, stakeholders, and the general public.

He further disclosed that contesting for the PRO post is to create visibility for the activities, and improve the welfare of football coaches in Lagos State.

Ojo said if he is elected as PRO of the association,he promises to leverage digital media platforms for branding, documentation, and opportunities which would attract partnerships, sponsorships, and development programmes for coaches.

“With a deep sense of responsibility, service, and commitment to the growth of grassroots and professional football coaching, I, Ojo Oyebode Olufemi, hereby formally declare my intention to contest for the position of Public Relations Officer (P.R.O.) of the Lagos State Football Coaches Association.

“As a seasoned football coach, youth developer, sports analyst, and the Proprietor of Usefulyouth Soccer Academy based in Alimosho, I have spent over 15 years contributing to the development of the game through capacity building, media engagement, community football projects, and structured player development pathways.

“My experience on radio and television as a sports analyst has equipped me with the professional communication skills, media relationships, and public engagement strategies required to positively project the image of our great association.

Ojo said he is not contesting for fun but he has fully consulted his colleagues, family and friends who supported his dream and encouraged him to throw his hat in the ring to compete with other candidates who are interested in the position.

“I strongly believe that football coaches are critical stakeholders in the football ecosystem, and their voices, values, and contributions must be professionally represented with integrity, innovation, and consistency.

“This declaration is not just a quest for a position, but a call to serve, to unite, and to elevate the image and influence of our noble association.

“Once again I humbly seek the support, prayers, and collaboration of all members as we work together to move the Lagos State Football Coaches Association to greater heights.Together, we will communicate our value, promote our profession, and strengthen our future,,”he concluded.
