Organisers of the Run For Asiwaju 2027 Mini Marathon have promised that this year’s edition would be better and glamorous.
The much anticipated Run For Asiwaju Mini Marathon would commence on 25th, January in Agege,Lagos.
The marathon would begin by 8am.The starting point is from Agege Council Secretariat and ends at the Orile-Agege LCDA.
No fewer than 1,000 participants expected at the one day event powered by Lagos State Speaker, Honourable Mudashiru Obasa
Addressing the journalists at the press conference held on Thursday afternoon in Agege,chairman Orile-Agege Council boss,Hon Akinola Idowu commended the Orile-Agege Council Sports Committee led by Dipo Liadi for their commitment noted that the marathon was designed as a way of galvanising support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his second term.
He urged the committee members to continue the good work and promised that two councils in Agege would provide necessary support to make the marathon a memorable one.
Akinola also disclosed that Run For Asiwaju Mini Marathon is in collaboration between Agege and Orile-Agege councils saying that participants would be benefited a sum of N10,000 for participation and running kits would be given to them some days to the event.
“This project is not for Orile-Agege Council alone it is collaboration with Agege LG and it is going to be Agege all affairs.We should not forget that the mini marathon is to mobilise the residents of Agege for Mr President ahead of next election.
“Of course it is organised for political reason too and ensure that all the participants are rewarded for their participation,”he said.
While chairman Orile-Agege Sports Committee,Dipo Liadi expressed its members readiness for the mini marathon and promised Orile-Agege Council boss good organization and hitch free sporting event.
Meanwhile different categories would involve in the mini marathon such as VIP category, youth category, professional category, elder’s category and host of others.
