Organisers of the ongoing U-15 Prince Gas Cup said any team found wanting or violating the rules during the competition would face severe sanctions or possibly be expelled.
The competition which kicked off over the weekend at the Sansan playground, Igando,Lago,s is being organised by Prince Gas Global Sports Concept under the leadership of Prince Sulaiman Gbadamosi.
In his statement, the tournament coordinator who doubles as chairman organising and disciplinary committee, Gbadamosi, expressed displeasure over the attitude of some club owners and coaches at the beginning of the tournament.
“There are some teams who are not willing to abide by our rules but now we would begin to sanction them or possibly expel them from our tournament. How can a team will be telling the organisers to consider the overweight of the players when we announced officially that this is the weight we are using for eligible players who want to take part in our competition.
“Aside this, some of the club owners and coaches came to me to choose the match officials that would handle their matches and I think we need to let them know that if they cannot abide by our rules, they have liberty to opt out from the competition now because we have many clubs that are interested in our competition,” the statement reads.
Meanwhile, ten matches have been played over the weekend. Sammy pip Pumah FC 1-0, Above All lost 0-3 to Rotes FC, Royal Warrior defeated Badro FC 2-0, while Balo played a goalless draw with Sharp Strikers.
In other results, Heart of Lion lost 1-2 to Royal Warrior, Young Stars lost 0-1 to Rising Stars, Super Accurate whitewashed Emerald FC 3-0, and Hero FC also lost 0-3 to Fathfu2 FC.
In other matches, Young Stars suffered 1-3 to Royal Warrior , while Hero FC defeated Okaka FC 2-1.
Action would resume on Friday as Sunyun face Young Stars at 5pm.
