Ileya Cup Final: Penalty Shootouts Earn Ologbonla FC Ileya Cup Trophy

Ologbonla Football Club have emerged as champions after defeating Future Stars 99 Football Club 3-1 on penalty shootout in the final of Ileya football tournament held on Saturday at Okerube, Alimosho Lagos.

The annual tournament was sponsored by a football enthusiast, Qudus Kasali.

In the match watched by mammoth crowd,Ologbonla came from behind to end the pulsating tie 2-2 in full time which led to the penalty shootout.

Ologbonla keeper, Kingsley Emmanuel was a match hero after he saved three penalties to deny his opponents from scoring.

At the presentation of the trophy and medals, individual awards were given to outstanding players.

Kingsley Emmanuel from Ologbonla won best goalkeeper, Highest goal scorer award went to Okechukwu Emeka from Prime FC, while best coach also went to Agbadu Lucky from Ologbonla.

Segun Faleye of Future Stars 99 was adjuged as Most Valuable player and best defender was given to Emmanuel Uche from Ologbonla.

Match coordinator, Sulaiman Gbadamosi commended both finalists for their good performance noted that the final has lived up to expectations.

He, however, congratulated the champions for their fighting spirit to come back from the game which resulted to the shootout.
