The 9th edition of U-17 boys and girls Taiwo Afolabi Cup final ceremony would hold on 4 May, Sunday at the Albati Barrack Sports Center, Ojuelegba,Lagos.
In the boy’s final category, Onabanjo Babes from Ijebu-Ode face Young Shall Grow from Alimosho,Lagos,while Makbet Queens from Isolo tackle Dominion Girls from Ikorodu in the girl’s category.
Match coordinator, Taofeek Ajibola confirmed that the final ceremony is part of programmes lined up for the cup donor, Chief Taiwo Afolabi who is planning to celebrate his birthday on Tuesday at his residence.
“Our final would hold on Sunday because the cup donor asked us to shift it to Sunday so that he can continue his birthday celebration with the finalists.
“However the cup donor who doubles as Chairman of Sifax Group, Dr Afolabi also wants his staff, friends and relations to be part of the grand finale so it is going to be a glamorous and exciting final and I wish all the teams best of luck in their outings,”he said.
Ajibola however disclosed that the organising committee is ready and promised to host the befitting final ceremony and urged the fans to comport themselves in orderly manner during and after the match.
