Greenhouse gave an impressive performance to emerge champions in the just concluded Association of Professional Food Service Providers of Nigeria (APFSPN) 2024 Sport Fiesta which took place on Sunday inside the Sport Complex of Grange Schools, Ikeja, GRA, Lagos.
With this result they have made history to become the first house to win the event back-to-back since the inception of the sporting event which is aimed at creating a platform for members to socialize and have fun.
The nature coloured house recorded a total of 92.3% points after finishing top in match-past and men 2x200m event. They also finished second in the 4x400m dish-race, 100m dish race and hit-the net football event which made them defend their title in a majestic manner that showed class and established their superiority over others.
Their historical performance would be a source of concern for other houses in subsequent editions as they have set the tone that would become a source of worry for other houses in subsequent editions..
For the second position, White house which would have dropped to the bottom rose from an early slump to become runner-up with 73.6 points. They won the 4x100m dish-race and hit-the net football event in a classical manner that made them move above their initial position and also recorded their first ever best performance in the history of the event.
Red house settled for the third position with 66.3 % points, while Yellow house who finished bottom of the table garnered 55.8% points in the overall events.
Meanwhile, Nigeria’s foremost Supporters Club, the Nigeria Football Supporters Club (NFSC) were present at the event as they thrilled the crowd to a rhythmic sound with their drums and trumpet which gave the athletes and guests a typical atmospheric environment that made the Master of Ceremony, Ben Ogbeiwi, heap praises on them for their masterly handling of the musical instrument during the event.
The celebration for Green House continued as they will be looking forward to defending their title in the next edition while tactical efforts will now be put in place by other houses to dethrone them in next edition.
