Two Nigerians today recorded victories in the early hours of day 2 of the Lagos Badminton Classic despite Nigeria’s Segun Obasanjo fall on Wednesday when he was beaten by the only American who entered for the 7th edition of the Lagos Badminton Classic.

It was a moment of joy for Nigeria’s duo of Eniola Bolaji and Jeremiah Nnanna who defeated their opponents to keep their chances of progressing alive as they did not allow Obasanjo’s fall to discourage them.

Jeremiah defeated Germany’s Adam 2-0 to keep the flag high, while Eniola demolished Indian’s Mandeep Kaur 2-0 to win with a score of 21-5, 21-8 to keep the hope alive.

The championship has continued to gather momentum as Nigerian athletes are looking forward to making a statement for themselves on home soil in an event comprising 118 athletes.
