How Nigerian Youths Will Benefit From Nokia-powered Centre Of Excellence In Abuja – NCC Boss

The Executive Vice Chairman and CEO of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), Dr. Aminu Maida has said that the newly inaugurated Centre of Excellence by the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Dr. Bosun Tijani in Abuja will allow teeming Nigerian Youths to develop themselves technologically.

Nokia powders the Centre of Excellence built by Aminu Maida-led management at NCC.

According to Maida, the Centre will “serve as a training ground for youth with engineering and technical backgrounds aspiring to build careers in telecommunications, and will focus on upskilling them in 5G and other advanced radio technologies.

“Under this partnership with Nokia, the Omnia Youth Entrepreneurship Program will provide high-quality training to 200 youths from the country’s six geopolitical zones.

“This initiative, though a small step, marks the beginning of something significant—a turning point for developing a new pool of radio engineers in our country.

“We hope to see the Centre of Excellence as a safe space for these engineers to experiment and explore new perspectives that would add value to the telecommunications industry.”

The NCC Boss commended the Minister for personally being on the ground to commission the Centre of Excellence, saying “Special thanks to Dr. Bosun Tijani for his vision and drive that brought this partnership to life, and to Nokia—I eagerly anticipate the opportunities this collaboration will bring,” Dr. Maida said.
