Ace Mariners Football Club forced homers, Samjason Football Club to a 2-2 draw in the ongoing Ikeja Divisional Football Super League.
The entertained encounter held on Friday evening at the Egan Grammar School as both teams ended the encounter in stalemate.
The away team first scored the opening goal in the 7th minutes through Toheeb Opaleye to give Ace Mariners early lead.
The homers who were determined to win their first home match quickly responded when Lateh Mighty equalised for Samjason.
The tempo of the game was high as both teams played purposeful football.The homers continued to attack until their effort was rewarded by Mighty in the 22th minutes.
Ace Mariners who lost their home match last week did not give up as they were searching for equaliser.An outside shot from Oyewola Daniel was visiting team needed to get equaliser in the 40th minutes.
The second half saw both teams missed some scoring chances.The two teams played to fans expectations who came to watch their game and applauded them for good football display.
Ace Mariners coach,Waheed Fasasi expressed satisfaction with the outcome of the game saying that both teams played good football.
“I am not disappointed with the result.My boys played beyond my expectations and i must commend them for the job well done.We would go back home now and prepare for our next game,”he said
Samjason Coach, Alfred Umoke said the game was not too bad for his players but frowned how the game ended in stalemate.
“It was not too bad outing for us but it would have been better if we secure the three points for our home match.We still need to work on the players before our next match.However i would still commend my boys for their resilience and fighting spirit displayed throughout the game,”he said.
