Alimosho U-16 League Kicks Off In May As Participating Teams Ready For Battles

Ten football academies are expected to participate in the Alimosho Football Coaches Council U-16 League which begins May 1 across the centres in the city of Alimosho, Lagos.

The league which is put together by the Alimosho Football Coaches Council is an avenue for the young footballers to come to limelight and nurture to stardom.

In the fixtures released by the organisers,four matches would be played in the week one across the centres.

Sammy would welcome B United by 10am at Ijegun playground,Pro foot would host Samjason in local derby at Egan Grammar School by 3pm, while IGFC and Future Stars would meet each other in another local derby by 3pm at the Igando palace playground

Realms Athletic would be the guest of Divine Stars by 1pm at the Prime Touch mini football pitch,Obadore, Akesan.Kedge Sports would also host Ola Stars at Asiriabo playground, Badagry Expressway.

In his message to the participants,. leader of Alimosho Football Coaches Council, Samuel Unchenna Eke thanked God for the commencement of the league and reminded the teams to play according to the rules and regulations.

He however charged them to desist from age cheating, fraudulent acts and other social vices that can bring the league into disrepute.

“We want to do better than last edition and we want to try as much as possible to curb age cheating.Of course what happened last season we don’t want such things again and we are appealing to the club owners, coaches and managers to desist from age cheating and other social vices that can affect our league, “he said.
