Prince Kazeem Eletu Football Club striker,Emmanuel Chinedu became a match hero following his hattrick he scored against R2 Finesse Football Club of Gbagada in a friendly match played recently at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena formally known as Onikan Stadium.
Unbeaten Eletu boys walloped R2 Finesse boys 6-0 in a friendly match watched by officials of both teams.
Although R2 Finesse were defeated a lone goal when both teams met some month ago and their second meeting at Onikan stadium recently saw Chinedu shone like a star after he scored hattrick in a six goals thriller to condemn their opponents to defeat.
Chinedu who was on rampage throughout the match gave a good account of himself as he was adjuged man of the match with his scintillating performance.
Chinedu while chatting with our correspondent described his performance a good one but noted that his best is yet to come.
“It was a good outing for me because I scored three goals against good side.Although i had so many scoring chances that would have converted but I thank God that i scored hattrick which is good for me.
“Let me assure our fans that this is the tip of the iceberg.I am trying to score in every match and i would continue to work on my goal scoring,”he said.
Other scorers in the match are David Igwe, Precious Ogunyashe and Joseph Peace.
Isreal Adegolu who is the head coach of Prince Kazeem Eletu expressed satisfaction with the team’s performance and insisted that his boys should continue to work hard in subsequent matches.
“Of course the boys played well today but there are still room for improvement.Like I always say,it is not about winning but i am concerned about the development of the players.So far so good, some players are growing and i still need more improvement from them in subsequent matches,”he said.
In his own response, team manager of R2 Finesse, Adejumo Raji said he was worried about the result and admitted that Eletu boys deserved the victory.
“our defeat was embarrassing and not acceptable to our fans but football is about winning and losing.Our match against Eletu was an eye opener and we need to work on our grey areas ahead of our high profile football tournaments in the year 2024,”he said.
