10 Schools Hunt For Honours At Pastor Joseph Waiye Adebiyeku Foundation Scrabble Classics

Ten schools are expected to join the hunt for points, honour and prizes at the maiden Pastor Joseph Waiye Adebiyeku Foundation Scrabble Classics scheduled for Olambe Akute, Ogun State on Friday, 1 December 2023.

Preparations have begun for the one-day event which has been planned to evolve into a national championship.

Categories to be competed for are: the Basic and the Intermediate.

The children who brought up the tournament in honour of their father said it is their own way of sustaining interest, discovering talents and creating competition for scrabble in the country and also to celebrate the 6th anniversary of their father who has been described as a man who loved education, creativity and ingenuity.

The winner of this maiden edition will go home with three terms school fees, a gold trophy and N100, 000 for the school plus a participating plaque, while the second position will go home with two terms school fees, a silver trophy, N70, 000 for the school plus a participating plaque and the third position will go home with a term school fee, bronze trophy, N40,000 for the school plus a participating plaque.

Other participating students from all the schools will go home with souvenirs to encourage them to do more in the game of scrabble.
