Surulere Archdeaconry football team would have a mountain to climb when they face defending champions, Orile/ Coker Archdeaconry football team in the first semi final of the ongoing Diocese of Lagos Mainland football tourney.
The pulsating semi final match would hold on Saturday by 10am at the CMS Boys Grammar School, Bariga,Lagos.
Speaking ahead of Saturday encounter, Surulere Archdeaconry football team coach, Anyanwu Emeka boasted that his boya are not afraid of any opponent saying that his target is to win the cup.
“We are not in this tournament for jamboree but we are here for business.If my boys could beat Mushin in the quarter final, I think we are good to win the cup.Playing Orile/Coker Archdeaconry is another tough game but we shall triumph at the end of the day,”he said.
In the second semi final match, Okota Archdeaconry football team would face Ikate Archdeaconry football team by 12noon.This match promises to exciting as both teams did well in their quarter final matches.
The tournament whick kicked off some weeks ago is graciously supported by Reverend B.C Akinpelu Johnson, Diocesan Bishop, Diocese of Lagos Mainland.
In his own comment,match cordinator, Adeoti Olusanjo expressed satisfaction with the level of compliance of participants since competition started.
He is also quite impressed with the standard of the game by the participants and wished the remaining teams all the best in their semi final matches.
