Coach of Lekki United Football Club of Lagos, Lasisi Yusuf has expressed disappointment following the late goal his team conceded against Prince Kazeem Eletu Football Club in a friendly match played recently at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena formally known as Onikan Stadium, Lagos.
Joseph Peace 86th minutes strike was Lagos City Cup finalist needed to beat Lekki United in the pulsating friendly match watched by team’s officials.
Yusuf while reacting to the game said he was disappointed that his boys conceded last minute goal and blamed his team for lack of concentration.
“Honestly it was a disappointing outing for us.My boys gave a good account of themselves and we created some chances but failed to convert it.When i was thinking that the game would end in draw,it was that period we lost concentration and our oppenents scored the winning goal which was a very painful defeat and not good for image of the club,”he said.
Yusuf also described Eletu boys a well organised and tactical team but regretted that they lost to their opponents at the last minute.
He also commended his boys for their tactical play saying that Eletu were lucky to have won the encounter.
Joseph whose goal devastated Lekki United coaches thanked God for his performance saying that his best is yet to come.He assured his fans to expect better performance from him in the subsequent matches and pledged his commitment to the club.
“It was a vital goal because it came at the last minute of the game.We have been looking for goals since the beginning of the match but missed a lot of chances so when the opportunity came i did not waste the time to net the ball.This is not the best of Joseph yet but i am happy that i scored the winning goal for my club,”he concluded.
