Erico Sports Legacy Foundation Basketball Clinic Holds June 29-30

Over 200 kids in and around Lagos State are expected to attend the Erico Sports Legacy Foundation Basketball clinic  holding between June 29 and 30, 2023.

According to the organizer of the clinic, United States of America based Michael Oluwaseun Erico who is a son of the late Super Eagles’ of Nigeria goalkeeper and coach, Joe Erico.

The registration will officially start on June 28th at Ilupeju Basketball Court. 

He told our correspondent on Tuesday  that the clinic is a rare opportunity for kids to be taught the basics of basketball towards hitting stardom in the nearest future.

Michael Erico said they were expecting young basketballers from academies, clubs, schools and elsewhere  to storm the Ilupeju Courts, Lagos as the  Erico Sports Legacy Foundation is ready to produce quality teaching and motivation for kids with potentials in the game of basketball.

According to him “We have notified coaches,teachers and other stakeholders to bring their best basketball players to  this 3rd edition of the basketball clinic after two earlier ones that were  highly successful. 

We have quality trainers waiting to teach kids how to properly  play basketball and excel in their career in the nearest future.

“It is a unique opportunity from the Erico Sports Legacy Foundation that is aiming to mould players that will play top basketball in the NBA(USA) in 

the nearest future. 

Already we have  quality goodies and other take aways for the several kids that we are expecting at Ilupeju courts between June 29and 30, 2023″, noted Michael Erico who said early exposure to the game of basketball by his dad boosted his career in Spain, Russia, Turkey, Greece and the NBA 

The  professional basketballer who turned 35 two days ago expressed gratitude to his late Dad, Joseph Erico a.k.a (Jogobonito) for being a lively, wonderful and disciplined father.

“My dad was clearly a good influence in my life and the entire family is grateful for the excellent values he imbibed in us. We are committed to honouring him even as he is no more with us physically. 

We also appreciate the contributions of other  stakeholders like  Colonel Sam Ahmedu (rtd) , Coaches Charles and Chris and others too numerous to mention. 

“It is our hope that  God will complement our effort to discover and develop quality basketball players that would be pride of Nigeria and hopefully,  the clinic will get beyond Lagos State very soon”, he added.
