Some of the former Nigerian international who were on ground to watch the finals of the 4th U-13 JOF Football Tournament have hailed the organsation and standard of play in the age grade grassroots football competition.
The competition is being sponsored by JOF Nigeria Limited.
The final ceremony of the competition was held on Sunday at the Campos mini Stadium on Lagos Island where Wasbak Babes defeated Zamadek 1-0 to emerge champions, while Ojo Babes also humbled Qudus Babes 2-0 to win the third-place match.
Alhaji Olawale Liammed Gafar, vice chairman of Lagos State Football Association was impressed with the standard and quality of the game, adding that the two finalists played good football, but the better side carried the day.

“It was a good final, and the two teams played a very good football throughout the game. Of course, the standard of the game is quite impressive, and I have identified some talents in both teams. When the time comes, the Lagos FA would still need the service of those players and on our own part, we would continue to support football and youths’ development in the state,” he said.
Gafar also commended the cup donor, who doubles as Chairman JOF Nigeria Limited, Chief Olusegun Olugboyegun for his commitment to grassroots football and urged other corporate bodies to follow suit.
Waidi Akanni, one of the ex-internationals also commended the finalists for the job well done and congratulated JOF Nigeria Limited on the success of the tournament.
He said the ex-internationals would continue to support grassroots football development and urged football organisers to always invite ex internationals to their programmes.
Other former Nigerian footballers on ground included Wasiu Ipaye, Friday Elahor and others.
The cup donor, Olugboyegun was also excited on the success of the closing ceremony, saying that this year’s edition was a remarkable one.
He however congratulated the finalists for their brilliant performance and called for support of Lagos FA and other football stakeholders in the next edition.
