Madestone Football Academy received a major boost on Saturday when Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) head coach Nurudeen Aweroro paid a visit to the facility, bringing with him words of inspiration and a message of discipline for the next generation of Nigerian footballers.
Aweroro, who currently steers the ship at one of Nigeria’s most storied clubs in the Nigerian Premier Football League (NPFL), made the trip to the training ground in what he described as a gesture of encouragement toward the academy’s young players and their coaching staff.
The experienced tactician was visibly impressed by the standard of training on display, and wasted no time delivering a passionate address to the youngsters gathered before him.
“Discipline is the only way you can excel in this game, on the pitch and off it,” Aweroro told the players, stressing that talent alone would not be enough to take them to the highest level.
He painted an ambitious picture of what awaits the most dedicated among them, charging them to remain discplined and focused in their football career.
In his address,Aweroro said only the dedicated and discplined players stand the chance to play for 3SC and national teams and tasked the youngsters to pay attention to their coach’instructions during the training session.
The coach however commended the head coach of Madestone football Academy, Tobi Olubiyi for his vision and leadership of the academy.
He also praised the academy’s
technical staff, urging them not to rest on their laurels and acknowledged the unique challenges that come with molding very young players who are still learning the fundamentals of the game, a task he admitted many coaches actively avoid.
“What these coaches are doing here is not easy.It takes real commitment and patience, and they deserve credit for it,”he said.
In his response Olubiyi expressed delight for hosting a coach of Aweroro’s caliber noting that the 3SC gaffer has brought a wealth of experience to Oluyole Warriors, having previously served as coach at Ikorodu City Football Club, also in the NPFL.
According to him,his visit served as a timely reminder to the players and coaching crew at Madestone academy that the road to the top runs directly through the work being put in academy by mentoring and nurturing the players to stardom.
