Nigeria US based football coach, Oladayo Anthony Ushurhe has urged the Flying Eagles led by Ladan Bosso to go for victory when they confront Brazil in their last group match scheduled to hold on Saturday evening.
Former coach of Messiah Football Club of Lagos said this at his 50 years birthday novelty match between his friends and FKJ All Stars which held recently at the African primary school, Ifako-Ijaiye.
Nigeria have won their two matches to remain top in the group but a victory or draw against Brazil would give West Africa country to maintain unbeaten run.
Brazil on the other hand need an outright victory against Nigeria to avoid coming out as a best loser knowing full well that a wide margin victory for Italy against Dominican Republic would put the European country to occupy the second position.
Ushurhe, who commended the performance of Nigeria’s Flying Eagles in their last two matches noted that their match against Brazil would be a tough nut to crack.
“First and foremost, let me commend our flying eagles for the job well done. They won their two matches, and this is to tell you that they are in world cup for business.
“Having said this, our match against Brazil is a match that would be tough because the south American country need outright victory against us.
“My advice for Ladan Bosso boys is to go for victory and make the country proud. Brazil is our rival in any category so we should approach the game with all seriousness,” he said.
Ushurhe who thanked God for clocking jubilee said the football player’s development in Nigeria is fast growing but urged the grassroots coaches to go for coaching training and retraining to keep abreast with the new coaching techniques and methodology.
Meanwhile the birthday celebrant organised a novelty match between his friends and FKJ All Stars.
In the novelty match watched by mammoth crowd, Ushurhe scored the equaliser for his team to end the game 1-1 at the regulation time.
