Women’s Rugby League World Cup Qualifiers: Nigeria Begins Early Camp Ahead Battle Against Kenya

In preparation for the Women’s Rugby League World Cup Qualifiers, Nigeria’s female national rugby league team have
commenced an early training camp ahead of their crucial two-legged match against Kenya, set to take place on the 19th and 22nd of September in Nairobi.

A squad of 22 players was invited to camp on Monday at Rainbow College Boarding School, Maba, along the Ibadan Expressway, where preparations have been in full swing.

The winner of the two matches between Nigeria and Kenya will secure a spot in the Women’s Rugby League World Cup Prequalifers the World Series being run next year

The Nigerian players are in high spirits, and they are mentally and physically ready to take on Kenya in the qualifiers.

President of the Nigeria Rugby League Association, Abiodun Olawale-Cole, expressed his satisfaction with the team’s progress. He commended the players’ preparation and anticipated a strong performance in Kenya.

“We’ve ensured the players receive top-notch preparation with the support of our sponsors. Despite a few initial logistical challenges, we are grateful that the team is now comfortably camped at Rainbow College,” said Cole.

“The players are motivated, the coaches are working hard, and I am confident of a positive outcome in Kenya. Our women’s team, like the men’s team, remains undefeated, and I firmly believe that the World Cup ticket is within reach,” he added.

The female national team’s preparations are being generously supported by sponsors, including Aerial Robotix, Alaro City, Chappal Energy, and Leadway Assurance.
