Grammy-award-winning Nigerian Afrobeats artist, Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, aka Wizkid has announced plans to own a jewelry line.
The singer disclosed this in on an Afrobeats audiovisual podcast episode hosted by Shopsydoo Adesope.
Wizkid who was donning a diamond neckpiece, during the interview, disclosed that it was the first of six pieces his jewellery line would be making this year.
The Essence crooner said he designed the piece by himself, noting that it was the beginning of his jewellery line.
He said, “This [the neckpiece] is actually the first piece that I designed myself. This is the first of six pieces that I’m making this year. And yeah, the start of my jewelry line. So, it’s about to be some exciting stuff going on.”
The Starboy now joins the likes of American superstars Rihanna and Pharell Williams in the exclusive list of celebrities who owned jewelry lines.
Meanwhile, Wizkid believes that being a father to him is the biggest blessing in the world. He explained having kids has fueled his growth adding it is enough motivation to keep going in life.
Wizkid stated that he is blessed to have the love of his kids and family.
“‘It [being a father] has changed me a lot. I am grown; lots of love in my heart fuels me to keep going, that is the drive, the only drive to keep me going.
“My family, my kids, I just feel blessed to be their father, take care of them, God put me in that position, it is the biggest blessing in the world, being able to recreate,” he noted.
Wizkid has four children, and he shares two with his current partner Jada Pollock.
Speaking on his music noted that he has some new music for his fans which is expected to be released in the coming week.
He explained that as an artiste he is immersed in his work, always trying to elevate his music and satisfy his fans.
“I sleep, breathe, eat, sh*t music. I’m always trying to elevate my craft from my sound, my videos, my productions, everything to a whole new level,’’ he said.
