A Lagos based semi professional club, Prince Kazeem Eletu Football Club are yet to live up to expectations in terms of goal scoring in their recent three friendly matches.
The failure of Eletu boys to win a match recently is giving a management and coaching crew something to worry about.
Lagos fans knew Prince Kazeem Eletu in the past as a scoring team and the Lagos based club won the hearts of football fans because of its style of play on the pitch.
Most of the opponents play against Prince Kazeem Eletu always suffer defeat not because the opponents are not a good side but Eletu striking force were deadly and superb then.
A match between Eletu boys and Smart City in a friendly match some years ago at Agege Stadium was a match fans cannot forget in hurry.
It was a friendly match that generated interests among the Lagos fans. Smart City were leading 2-0 in the first half of the encounter but the second half witnessed a turnaround for Eletu boys who came from behind and drew the game.
Aside this, Eletu are well known as attacking team but presently the club is still searching for reliable, dependable and hungry strikers.
In a recent friendly match played against Beyond Limits FC, Eletu boys lost 3-0 to Soname boys at Remo Stars Stadium.
Eletu boys gave their best in the friendly match and created numbers of scoring chances which failed to convert.
In another recent friendly match, Prince Kazeem Eletu played against Evolution United at Eagles Club unfortunately it ended one goal apiece.
Eletu boys controlled the game, dominated the encounter and created some scoring chances which the strikers failed to convert.
The same Evolution United came to Onikan Stadium last Thursday to play Eletu boys for return leg unfortunately the game ended barren draw.
Eletu boys played a good football, dominated the possession and missed some scoring chances that would have given them victory during the encounter.
Speaking on the Eletu performance recently, team manager of the club, Muftau Eletu expressed his displeasure over the team’s inability of goal scoring saying that the search for quality strikers is still in progress.
“Let me be frank with you,I am seriously worried about the team in area of goal scoring.We played three friendly matches within a month and we cannot win a game.We need strikers urgently and I am working with the coaching crew how we can get at least two before next month,”he said.
Corroborating what Eletu said, coach of Prince Kazeem Eletu, Isreal Adegolu admitted that the team lack quality strikers noted that the search for new strikers already begun.
“Presently, the problem of Prince Kazeem Eletu FC now is goal scoring.We have strikers but they cannot convert their chances that come their way.We need to get players who can hit the target and clinical in the front of goal”he said.
