No fewer than 32 goals were recorded in the ongoing Bet9ja Ibeju-Lekki Football Tournament which kicked off on Saturday in two centers in Ibeju-Lekki axis,Lagos.
Out of ten matches played over the weekend, ten teams triumphed over their opponents as fans enjoyed all the matches with superb goals scored in all matches.
In the opening match, Prolific FC lost 0-3 to De Ultimate FC,Star To Be FA whipped As Strikers 3-0,Elite pip CET Sport FC 1-0 and Tickko defeated Top FC 4-2.
Six matches were played on Sunday as Bright Star defeated Amuludun FC 2-0, Super Strikers suffered 0-3 to Reality FC, Middlewell thrashed Supreme FC 2-0,Royal Asterisk walloped Orimedu FC 4-0, while Zion FC lost 2-3 to Success FC as Golden Star also defeated De Future 2-1.
The competition is sponsored by Bet9ja Betting Company and organised by Leader of Ibeju-Lekki Football Coaches Council, Victor Akinmoyo.
Akinmoyo who doubles as tournament coordinator expressed satisfaction with the level of preparation of the teams saying that the best teams emerged winners in the week one of the competition.
He explained that it is too early to predict teams that would go far in the tournament noted that the competition would spring surprises in subsequent matches.
Akinmoyo however thanked the title sponsor and fans for making the competition a memorable one and urged the football fans in Ibeju-Lekki and its environs to come out in large numbers to support their teams in the next game
