Aremo Michael ‘Ladi Ogunbiyi of the Ogunbiyi dynasty in Abeokuta, Ogun State will today, Saturday, May 25 be installed as the Baba Ijo of the United African Methodist Church (UAMC) Surulere, Lagos State.
‘M.L.O’ as he is fondly called is the son of the former Baba Ijo of the United African Methodist Church (UAMC) Cathedral, Ebute-Metta, late Elder Chief Kolade Oluwole Ogunbiyi, who was also the Adila of Egbaland and Oluwo Keesi township in Abeokuta, Ogun State.
According to Aremo Ogunbiyi in a chat with our correspondent, no less than five top first class Obas in the South West will be gracing the occasion.
Among them is His Royal Majesty (HRM) Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland, Oba Michael Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo (CFR); His Imperial Majesty Ooni Of Ile-Ife, Oba Adeyeye Babatunde Enitan Ogunwusi Ojaja 2; His Royal Majesty (HRM) Oba Abdulfatai Oyeyinka Aremu Ojora, The Ojora of Ijora kingdom; His Royal Majesty (HRM) Oba Israel Adewale Okoya, the Onibereko of Ibereko Kingdom as well as the Alapa of Apa Kingdom, Oba Oyekanmi and His Royal Majesty (HRM) Oba Ogundana Moses Akinwande, the Onikoyi of Ikoyi Ekiti, Ekiti State.
‘M.L.O’ has already tagged today’s event ‘The Legacy Project’ has he tends to use the ocassion to launch a missionary bus, renovating the church building and get procurement of muscial instruments for the church.
“This project will not only aid our vulnerable members in maintaining steady attendance at church programmes but also contribute to vibrant outreach initiatives and evangelism, that will touch countless lives,” he said.
Furthermore, he said the impact of the project will extend beyond community. “UAMC will contribute to a stronger and more virbrant Surulere,” he said.
The missionary coaster bus, we gathered will cost N120, 000, 000 while the cost of the musical instruments has been put at N80, 000, 000. The budgeted cost for the renovation of the church building is N150, 000, 000.
The Lay President of the Organisation, Barr. Oladapo Ogunlewe will lead other members of the Executive Officers of the Organisation to the installation service at the church auditorium situated at n10. 10, Joseph Shyngle Close off James Robertson Street, Surulere.
Other guests expected at the installation include High Chief Israel Akanni Akinwale, the Bagbimo of Egbaland and Apena keesi, Abeokuta, Ogun State; Assistant Inspector General of Police Patrick Kehinde Longe; Assistant Inspector General of Police Idris Nagoyo; Deputy Inspector General of Police Johnson Babatunde Kokumo (rtd); and Deputy Commissioner of Police (Operations) Tijani Fatai from Lagos State Command.
