Ex-president President Olusegun Obasanjo has said that he discussed brotherly matters with the presidential candidate of All Progressive Congress (APC) Bola Ahmed Tinubu when he paid him a visit in Abeokuta this week.
There have been reports that the former president endorsed the presidential ambition of Tinubu when he visited him in Abeokuta.
A statement by Obasanjo’s Special Assistant on Media, Kehinde Akinyemi, on Saturday, said Obasanjo’s discussion during Tinubu’s visit was “more brotherly than political,” adding that Obasanjo’s position on Tinubu’s ambition is neither here or there.
The President has neither agreed nor disapproved of  Tinubu’s ‘request’.

“Those claiming to be insiders at the meeting issuing a statement on the discussion and those crediting to me statement I had not made are enemies of the visitor and are not doing the visit any good.”

Tinubu visited Obasanjo at the former President’s private penthouse residence within the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library on Wednesday.
