Three Lagos Boxers In Team Nigeria For Africa 2024 Olympics qualifiers

The trio of Omole Dolapo, Oyesiji Adeola and Ojo Joy are among other boxers that jetted out to Dakar, Senegal for the 2024 Paris Olympics qualifiers.


Omole Dolapo (M) is of 57kg, Oyesiji Adeola (F) 50kg while Ojo Joy (F) 57kg, will be rooting for the continental slots in Dakar in their different categories.


They represented Lagos State at the 20th and 21st edition of the National Sports Festival in Edo and Delta States. They were shortlisted after the completion of the national camp exercise held at the Brai Ayonote Boxing Complex, National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos.


Ojo Joy won gold medal in NSF Asaba 2022, Oyesiji Adeola Bronze medal NSF Asaba 2022 and Omole Dolapo grabbed a gold medal in Edo 2020.


The management of Lagos State Sports Commission welcomes this development and wishes the young boxers a successful outing in Dakar.

Team Nigeria comprising of six female and three male boxers on Wednesday departed Murtala Mohammed International Airport for Dakar, Senegal for the Paris 2024 Olympic qualifiers holding from September 9- 15, 2023
