The Executive Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (EVC/CEO) of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), Dr. Aminu Maida on Thursday played host to a delegation from Galaxy Backbone led by the MD/CEO, Prof. Ibrahim A. Adeyanju.
The courtesy visit was an opportunity for the two government agencies to explore potential areas of collaboration and exchange ideas on improving Nigeria’s telecommunications infrastructure.
Galaxy Backbone was established by the Federal Government of Nigeria to operate a nationwide IP-based network that will provide a common platform for connectivity and other infrastructure services for all Government Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs).
In this meeting, Dr. Maida and Prof. Adeyanju discussed various initiatives aimed at using technology to improve service networks and systems across the country.
Discussions focused on improving interoperability between NCC and Galaxy Backbone to provide strong telecommunications infrastructure and comprehensive services nationwide.
Both sides expressed their commitment to promoting innovation and digital transformation in Nigeria, focusing on the expansion of quality telecommunications services.
The visit underlined the importance of strategic partnerships in developing Nigeria’s technology economy and strengthening the country’s position as a major player in African telecommunications.
