The final of 8th edition of U-17 boys & girls Taiwo Afolabi football competitions would hold Sunday afternoon at the Campus Sports Center, Lagos Island.
The final would be played between Sirdona FC, Ibadan and Rock FC, Idimu, Alimosho in the boys category, while Anderson girls of Ojota tackle Satty queens of Eti-Osa in the female category.
Match cordinator, Taofeek Ajibola disclosed that the competition was put together to mark his sponsor birthday who doubles as Chairman of SIFAX GROUP, Taiwo Afolabi.
Ajibola thanked the sponsor for his finacial contribution to the grassroots football development in the state and urged other football philanthropist to follow suit.
“We thank God for the hitch free competition and i must also commend our sponsor for sustaining this competition in the last few years and we are looking forward to the better final in year 2024.
“The journey started from southwest and thank God that we habe reached the final stage where winners would go home with the prize money and trophy.I congratulate the finalists and wish them best of lucky,”he said.
Ajibola announced that the winners in each category would go home with the sum of N400,000 with a giant trophy, first runner up will receive N300,000. Third position to pocket N200,000 as fourth place to receive N100,000.
