Team manager of Samjason Football Club of Igando, Samuel Uchenna Eke has come out to say their consecutive two defeats in the ongoing Ikeja Super League is a wakeup call.

Samjason lost 1-0 away to Tops FC and suffered the same scoreline at home against Olusosun United in last week.

“Our defeat is a wake up call and would also make our coaching crew and players show more seriousness in the league.Of course we parade young players in the team and most of them just graduated from academy to senior team so we should not expect them to win all their matches and this is a league, we win some and lose some. And what is important is that we need to work hard to achieve our target at the end of the season,”he said.

Eke lamented how the absence of his two key strickers affected the team’s goalscoring in their last two matches.

“Another factor that caused our defeats is our key two players. They were not around in our last two matches which affected the team in area of goalscoring,”he said.

Asked if his team can beat Magboro this Thursday at away, Eke said his team have respect for home team but they are not afraid of them.

“It is another tough match for us. Magboro are very compact good side. They are good at home and away. They won away match before and and they are scoring side too. We are going there to do our best and pray for injury free for my players,” he said.
