    Amos Fasanya Gold Cup Begins With 24 Teams In Ogun

    A total of 24 teams from Lagos and Ogun States are taking part in the ongoing Fasanya Gold Cup which is being sponsored by Chief Amos Fasanya.

    The tournament which kicked off two weeks ago is currently taking place at the Joju football pitch, Sango-Otta, Ogun State.

    Two teams in each group would qualify for the second round at the end of the group stage.

    In the matches played so far, defending champions,Agada United humbled New stars 3-1, Sportykanaan defeated Easyclick 2-1,Onipetesi boys lost 2-4 to D’Elite FC,while Godswill played 1-1 with Sunshine.

    In other results,Onitigbo boys played 1-1 with Sporting Talents, Capstone FC also played 2-2 with Achievers,Heyfash lost 1-4 to Community FC, Breakthrough and Favourite ended 2-2 as Acme Dynamite pip Welle All Stars 1-0 while Fidson Boys played 2-2 with Gold FC.

    Action resumes Sunday afternoon when Glory FC tackle United FC by 1pm as Gunners face Sango Rangers by 3pm

    Match coordinator, Akinlawon Akinola explained that he was impressed with the standard of play by the teams and urged them to continue to exhibit the spirit of sportsmanship throughout the competition.

    “It was a good start for us despite our little challenges at the beginning.Teams are following the rules and talents are discovering.I expect this year’s edition to be highly competitive and glamorous because many registered teams have football pedigree,”he said.

    Meanwhile matches will continue on Wednesday as organisers promised better officiating and organisation throughout the first round.

    Fasanya Gold Cup: Organisers Eye 24 Teams For Registration

    Organisers of the Fasanya Gold Cup have announced that only 24 teams would be registered for the annual tournament.

    This was disclosed by the chairman Organising Committee, Akinlawon Akinola while chatting with our correspondent on Thursday in Lagos.

    He noted that a lot of coaches from Sango-Ota and its environs showed interest in the competition but only 24 teams would be accommodated.

    “We cannot accomodate more than 24 teams because our sponsors,Chief Amos Fasanya and the committee have resolved to only register 24 teams for the tournament,”he said.

    Akinola said only few teams have registered for the tournament saying that they are still expecting more clubs to come for their registration forms.

    The annual competition is being sponsored by Chief Amos Fasanya.

    Among the teams completed their registration forms are Sunshine FC from Ifo,Heyfash FA and Sportykanaan FC.

    Meanwhile the draws would hold on 22,November while the tournament would kick off on 28,November at the Joju Playground,Sango-Otta,Ogun State.

    Fasanya Gold Cup: Teams Begin To Fight For Round of 12

    Teams would begin to play their last group matches Thursday to determine their place in the round of 12 in the ongoing Fasanya Gold Cup which is taking place at the Joju football pitch, Sango-Otta Ogun.

    Match coordinator, Akinola Akinlawon said they are in the last group matches to determine teams that would progress to the next stage which is the round of 12 of the tournament.

    “We are starting our last group matches today to determine which teams would progress to the next stage.So far so good, all the clubs have done well but not all of them would reach the next stage.

    “During the round of 12 stage , six teams would automatically qualify and pick two best losers to join them for the quarter final stage and I wish all the teams best of luck in their quest for the qualification tickets,”he said.

    In the matches line up for today, Bocca face Onitigbo FC by 10am,Community FC tackle Smart Strikers by 12noon, while God’s Will FC take on Great Vision by 2pm as Glory FC confront Sportykanaan by 4pm.

    On Saturday,Excel FC take on Achievers by 10 am,Underwriters FC face Breakthrough by noon as Young United confront Acme Dynamite by 2pm, while Gunners battle Starlight FC by 4pm.

    Action resumes on Sunday when Fidson FC battle God’s Talents by 2pm as Heyfash FA take on Abfa by 4pm.

    Fasanya Gold Cup: Five Teams Record Win As Heyfash Suffer Defeat

    Only five teams recorded their victories over the weekend in the ongoing Fasanya Gold Cup taking place at the Joju football pitch, Sango-Otta, Ogun State.

    The competition which started last week saw some coaches performed well in their various matches.

    In the matches played so far, Heyfash FC lost 1-3 to Mighty FC.Heyfash FC is being sponsored by Cup donor, Chief Amos Fasanya.

    In other results, Starlight humbled Young United 3-0, Dynamite played 1-1 with Gunners, Great Vision defeated God’s Talent 3-2, Hope FA lost 1-2 to ABF.

    Smart Striker played goalless draw with Agada United,community FC pip Lion Heart FC 1-0, Underwriter FC recorded 2-2 with Excel FC, while Breakthrough also played 2-2 with Achievers FC.

    Match coordinator, Akinlawon Akinola heaped praises on the teams for the spirit of sportsmanship displayed on and off the pitch and urged them to continue abide by the rules and regulations in their subsequent matches.

    Glory Football Club and other two clubs have started their campaign on a winning note in the ongoing Fasanya Gold Cup which kicked off last Saturday at the Joju football pitch, Sango-Ota, Ogun State

    Glory FC managed to beat Onitigbo FC 2-1, Bocca also defeated Sportykanaan 2-1, while Underwriter FC pip Achievers FC 1-0

    In other results, Fidson played 0-0 with Godswill FC,as Breakthrough FC also played 1-1 with Excel FC.

    Match coordinator, Akinlawon Akinola said he was impressed with the standard of the play by the teams and commended the teams for their preparation towards the tourney.

    “All the matches played so far was quite impressive and entertaining.Most of the teams lived up to expectations and I want other teams to emulate them in their campaigns,”he said.

    Action resumes on Thursday,Great Vision FC face God’s Talents FC by 12pm, Starlight tackle Young United by 2pm as Acme Dynamite take on Gunners FC by 4pm

    Fasanya Gold Cup Finally Kicks Off Saturday At Sango-Ota

    The second edition of Fasanya Gold Cup would finally commence on Saturday at the Joju football pitch, Sango-Ota, Ogun State.

    A total of 24 teams would battle in the tournament being sponsored by Chairman of Heyfash Football Academy,Chief Amos Fasanya.

    Two matches would hold on Saturday according to the fixtures released by the organisers.

    Fidson FC would begin their opening match against God”s Will FC by 1pm, while Onitigbo FC face Glory FC by 3pm.

    Action continues on Sunday when Achievers FC battle Underwriter FC by 1pm as Breakthrough FC tackle Excel FC by 3pm.

    Fidson FC are the current champion,while Canaan FC now known as Sportykanaan FC were the runner up and Achiever FC also the second runner up of the inaugural edition.

    Chairman Organising Committee, Akinlawon Akinola said the committee is ready for the commencement of the competition and urged the teams to shun vices that can ruin the image of the tournament.

    “We are fully ready for the tournament and teams are also looking forward to their opening match.

    Let me appeal once again to the coaches, players and fans to shun hooliganism during their matches and any club found wanting would be disqualified.I wish all the 24 teams best of luck in their outings,”he concluded.

    24 Teams Ready For Fasanya Gold Cup Draw Ceremony At Sango-Otta

    No fewer than 24 teams across Ogun and Lagos State are expected to participate in the second edition of Fasanya Gold Cup scheduled to kick off on 6, October, 2024 at the Joju mini football pitch, Sango-Otta, Ogun State.

    The much anticipated draws would hold on Saturday at the Joju football pitch by 10am

    Chairman Organising Committee, Akinlawon Akinola confirmed that all the teams are looking forward to the draws and noted that this year’s edition would be better organised.

    He revealed that many clubs are interested in the tournament saying that only the teams that have football pedigree were given chance to play in the second edition.

    “Presently the teams are almost completed because only few clubs are yet to complete their registration forms.I believe that before the draws, they would have finished their payments,”he said.

    Akinola also expressed his appreciation to the cup donor, Chief Amos Fasanya for unrelenting support given the competition.He described the sponsor, a lover of football who channel his resources to support youths and football development in Sango-Otta and it’s environs every year.

    “Our cup donor is not tired of sponsoring this competition annually and I am very happy for his commitment and dedication for the football development in Sango-Otta. I urge our participating teams to shun hooliganism during the competition and play according to the rules and regulations,”he said.

    Among the teams expected in the tournament are defending champions, Fidson,Sportykanaa, Achievers FC, Lion Heart FC,Starlite FC,Smart Striker,Heyfash Academy and Great Vision FC.

    Fasanya Gold Cup: Heyfash Academy, Focus FC, Santos FC In Bright Start

    Three clubs have started their opening match on a winning note in the ongoing Fasanya Gold Cup taking place at the Joju football pitch, Sango-Otta, Ogun State.

    Heyfash recorded 1-0 slim victory over Achievers Football Club in the opening match watched by cup donor, Amos Ajayi Fasanya and mammoth crowd.

    Emmanuel Olawore goal in the 27th minutes was Heyfash needed to record their first victory over their opponents.Effort by Achievers to equalise proved abortive as their opponents were focused and determined throughout the encounter.

    In other matches, Focus also recorded 1-0 victory over ABF, Santos managed to beat Action Boys in 3-2 encounter.

    A Lagos based NLO team, BYT played goalless draw with Young City, while Breakthrough also played 1-1 with Gladiators FC.

    Speaking at the event, cup donor, Fasanya expressed satisfaction with the organisation and standard of play by the teams saying that the competition had lived up to expectations.

    Action continues on Wednesday as Adiyan FC face Dominion FC, while Fidson battle Cannaland FC.
