Students of Cedar Grows International School, Lekki, Lagos have signified their intention to feature in the 4th edition of Community Marathon Series which holds in Epe on Saturday 29 April.
The Series tagged Epe 10km Road Race will feature runners across the country and some nations on the African continent.
The management of Cedar Grows International School made public the participation of the students during the school ‘s inter house sports championship held recently.

At the school sports meet, the organizers of the Community Marathon Series were not left out as they presented the community race touch to the Proprietress of Cedar Grows as an indication that the school will feature some of their best athletes in the road race coming up in Epe later this month.
According to Dr. Rhoda Makinde, the Proprietress of Cedar Grows, she expressed her optimism and confidence that her students will emerge winners at the 5km Epe Road Race coming up on April 29th.
According to her, Cedar School has been paying attention to sports development and mental fitness of the students. This makes the students to perform better in class and home because their mental and physical states are in good shape.
She said: “We don’t just teach our students basic education, we also train them in mental fitness, physical fitness and other basic facets of life that teach them self-confidence and winning capabilities.
The organisers disclosed that the decision to invite Cedar Grows to the 4th edition of the marathon is because the school has exhibited young talented boys and girls who can do well in a 5km road race, as this will be the first time that a school will feature as a team in a marathon event of this nature.
Mr. Moses Nwanze of the Community Marathon Series also said that he hopes this will be a challenge to other schools to participate in the marathon event.
The Community Marathon Series (CMS) is an initiative of Lexicon Communications and Kukuruku Inc.
The Epe 10k Road Race is receiving support from Larfarge, MultiChoice Nigeria, Amstel Malta, Pocari Sweat and endorsement from the Epe Local Government and the paramount ruler of Epeland, Oba Kamorudeen Ishola Animashaun.
