A UK-based football scout, Jason Cader McLaren has tasked the teams to be more tactical in their game rather than allow their players to play individual games.
McLaren said this while chatting with our correspondent during Day One of the Spring football scouting programme organised by Samjason Sports management on Wednesday at the Alade sports centre, Ipaja Command, Alimosho, Lagos.
McLaren said the participating teams showed seriousness and commitment but admonished the coaches to be more tactical in their approach to the game.
“The players are playing more of an individual game. I expect them to be more tactical in their approach. I have watched some players who are good and I still need to watch them again so assess them,” he said.
McLaren revealed that at least ten players have been pencilled down on Day one of the scouting programme and urged the coaches to educate their players on the importance of the scouting programme.
The UK-born football scout who represents Next Level, a FIFA Agency expressed optimism that more talents would be discovered in the scouting programme in days to come.
Speaking in the same vein, scouting programme coordinator, Uchenna Samuel Elendu Eke expressed satisfaction with the team’s performance and noted that more talents would be discovered before the final day.
He explained that all the teams played above average and tasked the players to give their best in subsequent matches.
