Organisers and foreign scouts have expressed satisfaction with the performances of the players during the spring football scouting programme which concluded last weekend at the Maracana stadium, Ajegunle, Lagos.
The four days programme was packaged by Samjason Sports Management and Samjason Football Club under the leadership of Samuel Uchenna Eke.
Teams from Lagos, Ogun and Oyo states were invited to participate in the programme which saw football scouts from UK, Netherlands and Czech Republic to witness the four days scouting football programme.
Speaking with our correspondent, one of the foreign football scout, Jouko Gorrisen from Netherlands expressed satisfaction with the prospect of selected players and assured them better offers in Europe.
Gorrisen showered encomium on Samjason Sports Management and Samjason Football Club for creating a platform for Nigerian young players to showcase their natural talents in order to achieve their dreams of playing professional career in Europe.
Speaking in the same vein, Costa Nhamoinesu from Czech Republic disclosed that selected players will have opportunity to further their education and admonished the selected players to be disciplined and remain focused when they get to Europe.
In his own comment, football scouting coordinator, Eke said the programme was initiated to support grassroots teams and gave players platform to be scouted by the foreign scouts and congratulated selected players for job well done.
He however urged coaches to equip themselves noted that football nowadays keep changing and coaches should be abreast with the modern day football coaching.
“Let me first and foremost thank our football scouts who came to Nigeria to scout for players.I am happy to say that most of the players performed well and some of them were selected and they would soon be invited for trials in Europe.
“This programme is an opportunity for young players to showcase their talents and I want to advise our coaches to abreast with the modem day football and once the coaches are equipped with the new information about football coaching,such coaches would be able to impact very well on their players,”he said.
