Senator Yari Gifts New Bus To NUJ Zamfara After Accident, Speaks On State Affairs

Senator Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar (Marafan Sokoto), representing Zamfara West Senatorial District, has shown solidarity with members of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Zamfara State Council following a recent auto crash involving their 18-seater bus of Correspondents’ chapel.

During a press conference where he addressed Zamfara’s security challenges and political climate, Senator Yari sympathized with the journalists over the accident, which occurred on November 29, 2024, involving 15 NUJ members traveling home after the National Delegates Conference held in Owerri Imo state. Thankfully, they sustained only minor injuries.

Moved by their plight, Senator Yari announced the immediate donation of a brand-new bus to ensure the journalists can continue their activities without disruption. He also prayed for Allah’s protection and prevention of future occurrences.

The senator received updates about the accident from Hon. Ibrahim Muhammad Birnin Magaji, a former NUJ chairman Zamfara state council and chairman, publicity committee of the A.A. political organization. Senator Yari’s gesture has ignited jubilations among the journalists and their well wishers and had been widely praised as a support for the media community in Zamfara.
