The Senator representing Lagos Central senatorial district at the National Assembly, Distinguished Senator Wasiu Eshilokun Sanni has facilitated the training of over 1500 students and youths of Lagos Central.
The training, tagged “Let’s Go Digital” was organised, in collaboration with Speed Up Lagos, at locations within the 13 LGAs and LCDAs that make up the district. It ran for five days from 28th August, 2023 to 1st March, 2023.
The closing ceremony, held simultaneously in all the LGAs and LCDAs in the district. However, Senator Eshilokun personally attended the one held jointly by Lagos Island LGA and Lagos Island East at Lagos City Centre (Our heritage), Sura, Lagos Island.
At the event, which had over 200 trainees in attendance; as well as, some stalwarts of APC in Lagos Central, the Senator, in his speech, stated that he promoted this training to imbue the youths with the requisite digital knowledge, “not just to navigate opportunities the world over, but to equally be champions in whatever endeavour they find themselves”.
He further noted that every modern nation requires digital savvy citizens to boost its development; hence his desire to equip his constituents. While congratulating the trainees, he admonished them to take every opportunity available to advance their digital knowledge, while promising to always bring more impactful projects to the district.
In her remark, the coordinator of the training and Speed up Lagos, Princess Gbemi Ajetunmobi congratulated the trainees for being lucky to have been part of the project, while appreciating Senator Eshilokun for making it happen. Different political leaders too like Chief Abayomi Daramola, Alhaji A.G.O. Sodiq, Hon. Folawiyo (Chairman, Lagos Island East) and Prince Rosul Eshilokun (Vice Chairman, Lagos Island LGA) spoke glowingly of Senator Eshilokun’s unwavering knack for human development.
The highlight of the event was the presentation of certificates of participation to the trainees.
