B United Football Club of Alimosho would clash against Miracle Football Academy in the final of Seamoriow U-15 League Championship which is held on Sunday at the Seamoriow Sports Complex, Ikotun, Abaranje Road, Alimosho, Lagos.
In Thursday’s semi-final, Lofty Skills Soccer Academy of Ikorodu lost 2-3 to B United, while Miracle FA defeated Bright Stars 7-6 to book a place in the final.
Lofty Skills opened the goal-scoring through Sikiru Amodu before Fadashe Tunmise scored the second goal to end the first 2-0 in favour of Ikorodu boys
B United began to pile pressure on their opponents in the second half and their effort was rewarded through the penalty kick converted by Muktar Muhammed.
The equaliser came through Oyediran Muyideen to send B United players and fans into wild jubilation.
A close-range shot converted by Yusuf Taofeek was B United needed to score the winning goal. Efforts by Lofty Skills to equalise could not materialise till regulation time.
Reacting to the match, Lofty Skills Coach, Bola Ahmed Yusuf congratulated both teams but noted that the better side won the game.
“We started well, unfortunately, my boys could not withstand the pressure in the second half. It was a good match for us and good officiating. I congratulate B United for their hard-fought victory over us and I wish them success in their final” he said.
B United Coach Azeez Badru said it was a well-deserved victory. He noted that his boys were more determined and showed a lot of fighting spirit, which earned them a well-deserved victory.
“It was a tough match for us and I thank God that we could come back and win the game. What really worked for us was the determination and the players played to instructions,” he said.
Meanwhile, the third-place match will be held by 12 noon, while the closing ceremony will be held by 2pm.
