Some players who distinguished themselves at the just concluded Seamoriow U-15 League Championship received financial rewards for their good performance.
The two weeks championship which sponsored by Pastor Oluwaseyi Amos came to an end on Sunday at the Seamoriow Sports Complex, Ikotun Abaranje Road, Alimosho, Lagos.
B United emerged as champions after defeating Miracle FA 2-0 in the final watched by Lagos State Football Association LSFA, Hajji Liameed Olawale Gafar and other invited guests.
A Liberian young player, Gaye Wilmot who is currently playing for Lofty Skills Football Academy of Ikorodu stole the show as he won two awards for the job well done.
Wilmot won two awards ranging from Best Midfielder and most valuable player of the tournament.His performance on the field of play cannot be compare to other players.
Wilmot was adjudged man of the match in semi final against B United FA.Although his team lost in the semi final but his first goal would not be forgotten in hurry in the minds of football fans.
The dark skinned player did not only score beautiful goals but his football artistry,ball control, dribbles and accurate passes stood him out among his peers.Wilmot went home with the sum of N200,000 in each award.
Team Manager of Lofty Skills FA, Bola Ahmed Yusuf confirmed that Wilmot deserved the awards saying that he played an instrumental role in the success of the team.
“Wilmot was born from Liberian parents but currently staying in Nigeria.He is not only a good player but his style of play is quite impressive .At times, I introduce him in free age grade competitions and he performs well.I am happy that he won two awards today and I hope he should continue in that direction,”he said.
Adigun Wajud of B United won best goalkeeper of the tournament and received sum of N150,000, while Adekunle Olashile won Golden boot award after scoring 13 goals in the tournament.He also went home with the sum of N150,000.
The best Coach of the tournament went to B United Coach, Mr Azeez Olawale Badru.He also received the sum of N200,000 as Moses Adigun of Sammy also won best goal of the tournament and went home with the sum of N100,000.
