The Lagos State Governor, Mr Olusola Sanwo-Olu on Sunday hosted the captain of Nigeria’s Super Eagles, William Troost-Ekong, who was on a courtesy visit.
During the visit, the Governor and the Super Eagles star spoke about football, the future, and the power of sports to inspire a new generation.
“I think he’s focused on lifting the AFCON 2025 trophy, qualifying for the 2026 World Cup, and his long-term goals of giving back, building, and uplifting others.

“On all of these, we’re on the same page.
“In Lagos State, sports is more than just a game. It’s a powerful tool for youth development, community building, and creating real opportunities. We’re committed to upgrading facilities, investing in grassroots talent, and partnering with those who share this vision.
“I commend William for leading by example, on and off the pitch. Lagos stands with you. Let’s build the future of Nigerian sports together,” the Governor said.
