Rookies Bakinson FC Shock Bookmakers, Lift Onigando Cup In Lagos

Bakinson football team against all odds emerged the champions of the Onigando Cup which was held recently at the Sansan football pitch, Igando, Alimosho, Lagos.

Bakinson who are not favourites of the tournament humbled Adebayo Samba FC 3-0 in the final to lift the tournament for the first time.

The champions received the sum of N200,000 with a giant trophy, while first runners up and outstanding players also received cash prize for the job well done.

Tournament cordinator, Prince Sulaiman Gbadamosi thanked the well-wishers, friends and other football stakeholders who attended the closing ceremony.

He also expressed gratitude to the participating teams for playing by the rules and congratulated the champions for their good performance throughout the tournament.

During the medal presentation, Theophilus Amosu from Bakinson won most valuable player, Highest goal scorer award went to David Dimaku of Bakinson with seven goals as Dapo Bajowa of Bakinson cliched best goalkeeper of the tournament award.
