Attention would be shifted to Nathaniel Idowu sports center, Ajegunle, Ajeromi/Ifelodun Local government on Friday as Rising Star Football League kicks off with three games line up as official matches.
The first game would be played between Justice Glorious Interventions FC and Samba Boys by noon,AJ Young Stars tackle Straightway FC by 2pm, while Coal City battle Roro FC by 4pm.
Sponsor of the Rising Star Football League led by Ifeanyi Kama and his team arrived in Lagos yesterday to hold a press conference in readiness for the long weeks football league across Badagry division in the state.
Speaking with journalists, Kama expressed their readiness for the league and admonished the participants to show high level of seriousness throughout the league.
“The league is a platform for young players to showcase their talents and exhibit their skills.We are looking for young good players to be selected at the end of the league for a scouting programme.
“It is not an ordinary league but a league that comes with finacial benefits for players, coaches and club owners and communities.We just completed Abuja center recently and it was a huge success.We are in Lagos for second edition which I believe it would be glamorous and exciting for all the teams,”he said.
He furthered said there would be a financial rewards for the winners and outstanding players at the closing ceremony and urged the players to give their best in their engagements.
He however advised the coaches to desist from any sharp pratices that can dent the image of their clubs saying that any coach found wanting would be sanctioned accordingly.
Kama also disclosed that the league would be strictly monitored noted that the sponsor would not tolerate any form of violence, corruption and other social vices during and after each match.
Commenting on the security, Kama in his welcome speech expressed his confidence that the security officials would be on ground throughout the league and warned the players and fans to be a good ambassadors of their various clubs.
In his own remark, Chairman Badagry Divisional Football Association (BDFA), Dr Martins Osondu expressed gratitude to the sponsor for partnering with his division for the league.
He promised that his division would live up to expectations in all aspects of the organisation and reminded the club owners, coaches and fans of the rules and regulations guiding the league.
While some coaches who attended the conference expressed satisfaction with the level of transparency and seriousness on the part of the sponsor and organisers and promised to abide by the rules and regulations throughout the preliminary league.
Meanwhile, a total of 96 clubs across the state are expected to feature in the league.Rising Star Football League would be organised by Badagry Divisional Football Association.
