The Executive Chairman of Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) Ibadan, Hon Babatunde Olaniyan, has called on the traveling fans and club supporters, before, during and after to remain calm and orderly heading into Wednesday’s sixth round clash against Remo Stars in Ikenne.
Akoro, as the 3SC boss is known, urged Oluyole Warriors supporters to shun all forms of violence and opt for peace ahead of the South West Derby at the Remo Stars Stadium.
“We know that our people will gather in large numbers in Ikenne to support their beloved team in the game against their brothers from the South West. With this in mind, I would like to ask you to avoid any form of violence.
“You will remember that there was a recent meeting between the fans of both teams where they agreed that peace will always prevail, no matter what the situation will be on the field.
“Both fans recently proved that. Our fans were in Ikenne to support Remo Stars in their CAF Champions League campaign and when we hosted Plateau United in the first round, Remo Stars fans were in Ibadan to mobilize us.
“This confirms the fact that the days of violence between Shooting Stars and Remo Stars are over. This is the case of two brothers taking part in a competition. So it is a brotherly affair,” Mr. Olaniyan explained.
