PTO Ramadan Cup: Lagos Island Council Boss Assures Teams Of Full Support

Executive Chairman of Lagos Island Government Council, Prince Taiwo Ajibade Oyekan has expressed his support to the 16 teams that would take part in the 4th edition of PTO Ramadan Cup scheduled to commence on 25th February, 2026 at the Teslim Elias Primary School, Lagos Island.

The council boss who was ably represented by the Chief of Staff of Lagos Island Council,Lateef Ogunfowora at the press conference explained that the competition was designed to keep the youths busy and engage them through round leather game.

He emphasized the need for unity among the youths on Lagos Island noted that the Ramadan Cup is a platform where youths would come together to show love, care and friendliness to one another during the Ramadan period.

“Our able chairman is happy to sponsor PTO Ramadan Cup and his message is that he wants the participants to see this competition as an avenue for the youths to show love to one another.Secondly he has promised to give incentives to the finalists and also extend his kind gesture to other outstanding participants and players of the competition,”he said.

Commenting on the competition,match coordinator, Yusuf Yusuf said 10 wards from Lagos Island would raise a football team as six football clubs would join them making 16 teams to feature in the competition knockout format.

The opening match would be played between Team Absolute football team against Dolphin football team by 4pm on Wednesday.

Action resumes on Thursday evening as Team A4 football team clash with Team C2 football team, while Team Jankara football team tackle Team Ibile football team.

Meanwhile the competition is proudly sponsored by Chairman Lagos Island Local Government Council,Prince Taiwo Ajibade Oyekan.
