It was a sigh of relief on Wednesday for the fans and management staff of Prince Kazeem Eletu Football Club of Lagos after their darling team returned back to winning ways.
Eletu boys lost to Ojudu City and Dannaz FC consecutively recently which give coaching crew something to worry about.
Eletu boys humbled The Charlesann Football Club 3-1 in a friendly match played on Wednesday morning at the Mobolaji Johansson Arena popularly known as Onikan Stadium.
Raymond Oboh opened the goal scoring for Eletu boys to take the early lead.The early goal of Eletu spurred their opponents to raise the game as their effort was rewarded through Vere Okemute.
Both teams raised the tempo of the game fortunately Joseph Peace found the back of the net in the 31th minutes to send their colleagues and fans into jubilation.
The second half saw both teams missed some scoring chances.Eletu who had the opportunity to score more goals were wasteful in front of goal.
After several missed scoring chances Mohammed Bashir finally scored the third goal in the 56th minutes to give Eletu well deserved victory over their opponents.
Reacting to the victory, Eletu coach, Isreal Adegolu commended his players for their victory but noted that he still needs to work on the team.
“Of course we won today and our fans are relieved after our two defeats recently.I am particularly worried over inability to convert our scoring chances.We supposed to score more than five goals against our opponents unfortunately we manged to score three goals so the players who are concerned need to work hard in our subsequent matches,”he said.
The Charlesann coach, Lentini Emmanuel described Eletu a compact team who are well coordinated and tactically disciplined.He said his players gave their best but frowned how they missed their scoring chances in the course of play.
“Honestly we played a good side and we played Eletu boys who are very fit and tactically disciplined on the field of play. The two-side played good football but i must blame my players for not convert their chances too. Frankly speaking our opponents’ victory was well deserved and i Congratulate them for their hard-fought victory,” he said.
