The President Federal Republic of Nigeria, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the First Lady, Oluremi played host to the reigning Africa Women’s Player of the Year award winner, Asisat Oshoala in Lagos on Thursday.
The First Family received and had photoshoot with the former Captain of Nigeria’s Super Falcons who is currently playing for FC Barcelona in Spain.
The Nigerian star has won the CAF award in a record sixth time making her the footballer with the highest number of Player of the Year accolades in Africa.
She was nominated for the Women’s Ballon d’Or for the second consecutive year, being recognized for her outstanding performance in the 2022 edition.
It was a great honour for Oshoala who has done so well for herself and the country in world football, a rare feat which moved the president and his wife to host her at their home in Lagos.
